i've tried so many times to make good movies like this, but they always turn to crap. any tips?

Well, my basics are the timeline (frames, key frames, and layers), turning objects into symbols (like a graphic or movie clip), and tweening (from point A to point B). Learn what they are and play around with it, thats basically what I did. If you are wanting to know something specific, PM me.
